Job summary

Martin Brower is seeking a Transport Shift Manager in Coventry to coordinate daily transport operations, lead a team of drivers and clerical colleagues, and drive safety, service, and efficiency across the operation.

You will work with cross-department teams to maintain high safety standards, optimize performance, and foster an inclusive team culture, ensuring excellent customer service and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and support daily transport operations, ensuring workloads, service levels, and productivity targets are achieved safely and effectively.
• Work closely with drivers, operational teams, and customer service colleagues to maintain excellent communication and deliver a positive customer experience.
• Support, coach, and develop team members through regular feedback, training, performance reviews, and development opportunities.
• Plan workforce resources, including shift preparation, holiday management, absence cover, and scheduling to meet operational requirements.
• Monitor operational performance, compliance, fleet availability, and KPIs, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Promote and maintain a strong culture of health, safety, wellbeing, quality, and legal compliance across all transport activities.
• Help prepare operational and financial reporting, support audits, and contribute to maintaining operational excellence and readiness.
