Job summary

Qualifications

• Must have proven experience in a transport operations/coordination role.
• Strong knowledge of UK transport legislation and compliance.
• Able to plan under pressure and adapt quickly to changes.
• Excellent communication skills to liaise with drivers and customers.
• Good IT skills including Microsoft Office.
• Team player with problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Support the daily operation of a busy transport department, ensuring deliveries and collections are completed efficiently and on time.
• Monitor vehicle and driver activity, ensuring customer requirements are achieved.
• Act as the main point of contact for drivers, providing instructions and updates throughout the day.
• Liaise with customers, depots and internal departments regarding delivery schedules, booking queries and service updates.
• Monitor live transport operations, responding promptly to delays, breakdowns and disruptions.
• Ensure compliance with UK transport legislation, including drivers' hours and Working Time Directive.
• Maintain accurate transport records, proof of delivery documentation and driver paperwork.
• Assist with vehicle scheduling, resource planning and subcontractor coordination.
• Escalate operational issues and support timely resolution of service-related concerns.
