Flexibus is one of the most ambitious Digital Demand Responsive Transport (DDRT) programmes in the UK. It covers up to 90% of East Sussex and provides reliable, flexible mobility for residents who previously had limited or no public transport options.
The service is helping reduce isolation, increase independence, and open up essential connections through both app‑based and telephone bookings.
As Flexibus grows, strong support is essential to keep vehicles, journeys and customer experience running smoothly — and that is where this role comes in.
As a Transport Officer in our Passenger Transport Team, you will support the day‑to‑day operation of the Flexibus service, helping ensure journeys run safely, efficiently, and reliably. Customer service is central to this role. You will engage with members of the public on a daily basis, often supporting people who rely on Flexibus as an essential service. This includes responding to routine enquiries as well as resolving complaints or concerns where journeys do not go to plan.
This role is frontline, varied and essential to keeping the Flexibus network running smoothly for the communities that rely on it.

Interviews will be held in person at County Hall, Lewes. We expect these to take place on dates from 30 September - 9 October 2026. There will be a work‑related task as part of the selection process on the day of your interview.
