Job Description

We are seeking a Transport Modeller and Data Analyst with some experience, aiming to step into a mid-level role. The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical skills, a passion for generating insights, and driving improvements through modelling and data analysis. The position can be based in Farnborough, UK, or Zilina, Slovakia, within a team of passionate industry experts at a well-established aviation consultancy.

As a Transport Modelling Consultant, you will work on local, national, and international projects, often multidisciplinary, involving transport planning, modelling, economics, and wider consultancy disciplines such as operational or safety assessments, feasibility studies, benchmarking, or strategic consulting. Your responsibilities will include:

• Defining scope and development methods for fast-time simulation models
• Gathering, validating, and preprocessing data (formats include .csv, .xml, .json)
• Developing, calibrating, validating, and testing airport and airspace simulation models using aviation modelling software
• Running simulations and analyzing results
• Contributing to masterplans, capacity studies, and operational assessments
• Maintaining project databases
• Developing PowerBI dashboards focused on aviation performance metrics
• Creating interfaces between simulation tools and databases
• Writing technical reports and presentations
• Participating in design and project meetings
• Supporting business development and tender activities

Candidate Requirements

• A relevant degree or professional experience, preferably in air transport
• Basic understanding of transport modelling concepts
• Strong numerical skills, experience with spreadsheets and databases
• Accountability, ability to work in fast-paced environments, high-quality deliverables
• Self-management skills, including time and budget management
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work with diverse stakeholders, contractors, and clients
• Willingness to undertake international travel and overseas assignments

Desirable Skills/Experience

• Experience with airport/airspace simulation software (e.g., AirTOp, NEST, AEDT)
• Experience in airfield or terminal operations
• GIS software experience (QGIS, ArcGIS)
• Knowledge of SQL or MySQL
• Proficiency with pivot tables, VBA macros, XML schemas, Python, or R
• Professional membership in relevant bodies
