The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has come up for a Transport Modeller to join our London team on a hybrid basis! Our transport planning business operates across the UK and internationally, interacting with multidisciplinary teams and the vibrant transport modelling community in Arup globally.As a transport modeller, you will work closely with senior transport modellers and project managers in the transport consulting team in London, contributing to projects and bids through developing innovative methodologies to solve transport modelling problems through use of data, models and visualisations.

In your role you will undertake transport modelling including developing strategic transport models, model calibration and validation, forecasting future conditions, testing mitigation scenarios and scheme assessment, and extract data from models, interpret and produce technical reports / notes and present data to a high standard. If you have a background in transport modelling in particular across highways, public transport and multimodal modelling, we want to hear from you!

Requirements:

  • Proven experience using at least two modelling software packages, including but not limited to; Emme, VISUM, CUBE, Saturn, VISSIM, MATSIM.
  • The ability to support the development, calibration and validation of traffic models and knowledge of TAG requirements.
  • Experienced in Excel & report/technical note writing.
  • Skills in working with databases/ statistical analysis packages/ programming languages (e.g. MySQL/ SQLServer, R, Python, VBA) would be an advantage.
  • Experience and knowledge of TfL's modelling suite including Railplan would be an advantage.
