Average 44 hours, normally 7.30am-5pm, Mon-Fri, plus 1 in 3 Saturday mornings, 7am-11.30am
If you're not being stretched in your current job and have supervisory skills, ideally from the waste industry, then this could be the step up you're ready for. Supporting the Depot Operations Manager with the compliant day-to-day running of waste collection services at our Bishop's Cleeve transport depot is a demanding role, and you'll be a visible presence.
The depot services businesses in the Gloucestershire area. As Transport Manager, you will connect with the three-strong transport team and customers, establishing yourself as a proactive and capable presence.
Working alongside the Depot Operations Manager, you will support, manage, and motivate an experienced transport office team and around 24 drivers, ensuring that customers receive their waste or recycling collection services as expected.
Your customer-focused approach, organizational skills, and ability to build good working relationships are essential. We expect our Transport Manager to be a confident communicator and motivator, with sound computer and cost-control skills.
Other requirements include a Transport Manager Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) and a full clean UK driving licence, ideally with LGV Class 2 (cat C) entitlement.
