DPD Group is seeking a Transport Manager - Operations to lead the 24/7 transport operation at our UK site. The role oversees fleet and drivers through Shift Managers and Senior Drivers, coordinating with Hub Ops and Network Management to deliver a reliable service.

You will manage resources, health and safety, and ensure compliance with environmental policies and legal requirements while driving KPIs and delivering excellent customer service.

Qualifikationen

• Be an experienced logistics professional with strong operational management experience.
• Proven experience running a vehicle fleet of 400+ vehicles.
• Effective communicator with customer-oriented approach.
• Ability to work under pressure.

• Step up to cover the General Manager duties when needed.

We are delighted to announce that we are currently seeking driven and motivated Transport Manager - Operations to join our team based at our XXXXXXX Site . Our operation runs 24 hours a day, 7 day a week XXXXXXX shift pattern

Your key accountabilities will include;

• Responsibility for actively managing the running of the DPD Group Transport fleet and drivers through a number of Shift Managers, Traffic clerks and Senior Drivers
• Working closely with the Hub Operational Team and Network Management
• Ensuring an efficient service to Hubs, Network Depots and Customers.
• Leading and motivating a large team in pursuit of KPIs and departmental targets
• The management of employee and vehicle resource, holiday planning, health and safety
• Ensuring compliance with the company environmental policies and understanding legal requirements
• Ensuring that department compliance audit results achieve company expectations
• Proactively planning and delivering peak events such as Bank Holidays and Cyber Weekend
• Create and deliver training plans for direct reports to multi skill the team and ensure department succession
• Step up to cover the roles and duties of the General Manager when they are away from the business

In addition, we'll also expect you to:

• Be an experienced logistics professional with strong operational management experience.
• Have proven experience within a similar role having run a vehicle fleet of 400+ vehicles
• Be an effective communicator with an enthusiastic, customer orientated approach
• Have the ability to work under pressure

Job Specifics

You will have a thorough induction to the Transport operation as well as a comprehensive induction to DPD.

A Full UK driving Licence is essential for this role
