Job Introduction

  • We are seeking a Transport Delivery Project Manager to join our Transport Delivery team, responsible for delivering transport projects aligned with the Portsmouth Transport Strategy and national priorities. This is a full-time position based at the Civic Offices, with hybrid working arrangements depending on business needs.

Your New Role

  • Main Duties and Responsibilities:
    1. Implement and adhere to approved governance processes.
    2. Assess project feasibility, including budget, resources, and timelines.
    3. Set goals, define roles, and develop schedules and timelines for tasks.
    4. Manage budgets effectively.
    5. Monitor project progress.
    6. Identify and manage risks.
    7. Maintain relationships with stakeholders.
    8. Provide accurate and regular reports to the Board and senior management.

Candidate Profile

  • Relevant educational qualifications in Maths and English.
  • PRINCE 2 Practitioner certification or equivalent, or substantial project management experience.

Applicants should demonstrate experience in:

  • Project and/or Programme Management lifecycle from initiation to closure.
  • Effective presentation and communication skills.
  • Managing multidisciplinary teams and procuring contractors.
  • Handling large and complex budgets.
  • Building productive stakeholder partnerships.

Experience in delivering transport projects is desirable but not essential.
