Job summary

Culina, a leading logistics group, seeks a capable supervisor to join Great Bear. You will create and update daily run summaries to meet delivery and collection deadlines, and plan runs using the driver rota while respecting holidays and sickness.

You will ensure service levels are achieved in collaboration with other departments and maintain clear driver communications. You will also ensure legal compliance, uphold health and safety policies, and support disciplinary processes.

• Creating and updating daily run summary in order to achieve delivery and collection deadlines.
• Ensuring that service levels are achieved and maintained, in conjunction with other departments.
• Using the Driver rota, planning runs according to shift pattern and available hours, taking into account holidays and sickness.
• Ensuring legal compliance regarding any defects, services, MOT's, etc.
• Maintaining clear and effective communication with drivers; communicating accurate start times, load information, directions, additional shifts, etc.
• Ensuring adherence to all statutory and legal requirements, as well as all health and safety/safe systems of work policies.
• Assisting with disciplinary hearings, return to work meetings, substance misuse procedures, etc in order to maintain standards and ensure that employees work at an appropriate level. Proven knowledge and experience of tachograph/driving rules and regulations.
• Significant transport experience within an FMCG environment would be desirable.
• Planning and organising skills, with the ability to work efficiently and accurately to meet set deadlines under pressure.
• Previous management/ supervisory experience.
• Excellent communication skills in order to deliver accurate information.
• Good IT skills including MS Office packages with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Knowledge of Road Transport Directive and current drivers' hours.
• CPC National is desirable but not essential. Great Bear (Part of the Culina Group) provides distribution services to FMCG clients. Customer centric service focus is delivered through a site-level empowered culture.
