Job summary

Rhenus Logistics is seeking a transport coordinator to oversee daily routing and scheduling of deliveries. You will allocate collections, handle delivery issues, and maintain communications between Operations, Customer services, hauliers, and customers.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate daily routing and scheduling of deliveries to ensure efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Allocate collections to meet scheduling of collections and deliveries.
  • Manage and resolve delivery issues, acting as primary contact between Operations, Customer services, hauliers and end customers.
  • Build good working relationships across departments such as Customer Accounts Admin and Operations and the haulier/customer account team to resolve queries.
  • Manage transport budget, track transportation costs and find efficiency improvements.
  • Book deliveries and liaise with security gatehouse to resolve queries.
  • Ensure inbound/outbound manifests are completed promptly and sent to all parties.
  • Produce daily internal and external reports such as KPIs; WIPs; Activity Logs.
  • Report weekly Chep pallets usage, booking load and outbound despatch reconciliation.
  • Respond to all emails and calls promptly and politely.
  • Chase late drivers, provide directions, contact end customers to resolve issues quickly.
  • Act as first point of contact for transport queries and escalate serious complaints as needed.
  • Perform other transport admin duties and assist Transport Manager.
  • Undergo prescribed training and development.
  • Support workload management and cover colleagues as needed to run efficiently.
  • Adhere to policies and Health & Safety requirements.
  • Understand driver hours to better meet transport planning needs.

Job Description
What you can expect

Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, 06:00 – 14:00 (09:00-17:00 for first month training)

This role will include but is not limited to…
  • Oversee and coordinate daily routing and scheduling of deliveries to ensure optimal efficiency and customer satisfaction.

  • Produce daily reports both internally and externally as required such as: KPIs; WIPs; Activity Logs.
  • Reporting Weekly usage of Chep pallets, booking load and reconciliation of outbound despatch.
  • Answering and responding to all incoming emails and calls in a prompt and polite manner.
  • Chasing late drivers, helping with directions, calling end customers to resolve issues in a timely and efficient manner to ensure
  • minimal disruption to the delivery and minimise accumulative penalties.
  • Acting as a first point of contact for incoming transport queries.
  • Handling customer and internal queries and escalating serious complaints to management.
  • Perform any other transport admin duties as required and assist the Transport Manager and the team.
  • To undertake prescribed training and development
  • Help to manage workload and assist cover for colleagues as and when needed to ensure the transport department always runs
  • efficiently and effectively.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and Health & Safety requirements.
  • Perform all tasks and duties required and assist the Transport Manager.
  • Understand colleague and customer requirements and your role to enable these requirements to be met.
  • Understand driver’s hours would help your role to better meet transport planning, booking requirements.
