Job summary

Great Bear, part of the Culina Group, is recruiting a Transport Coordinator for our Minworth site on a full-time, permanent basis. You will plan driver and vehicle resources to meet delivery and collection deadlines while optimising resources in line with working time directives.

The role runs 4 on, 4 off nights (6pm–6am) with a salary of £31,986 plus £1,000 night-shift allowance. You will liaise with drivers, ensure legal compliance, maintain accurate run summaries, and support the team to

Qualifications

• Experience with tachograph rules and driver hours monitoring.
• Strong planning and organising abilities to meet deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Good IT skills, especially MS Office, with high attention to detail.
• Knowledge of Road Transport Directive and drivers' hours.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Create and update daily run summaries to meet delivery and collection deadlines.
• Ensure service levels are achieved and maintained with other departments.
• Plan runs using the driver rota, considering holidays and sickness.
• Ensure legal compliance regarding defects, MOTs, and related areas.
• Maintain clear communication with drivers including start times and loads.
• Adhere to health and safety policies and legal requirements.
• Assist with disciplinary hearings and related procedures when needed.

Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Transport Coordinator to join our team in Minworth on a full time permanent basis. Salary: £31,986 per annum, plus £1,000 night shift allowance. Working hours: 4 on 4 off nights, 6pm-6am. The purpose of aTransport Coordinator is to effectively plan driver and vehicle resources to achieve delivery/collection times, whilst optimising resources and adhering to WTD and driver's hours' legislation.

Key Duties

• Creating and updating daily run summary in order to achieve delivery and collection deadlines.
• Ensuring that service levels are achieved and maintained, in conjunction with other departments.
• Using the Driver rota, planning runs according to shift pattern and available hours, taking into account holidays and sickness.
• Ensuring legal compliance regarding any defects, services, MOT's, etc.
• Maintaining clear and effective communication with drivers; communicating accurate start times, load information, directions, additional shifts, etc.
• Ensuring adherence to all statutory and legal requirements, as well as all health and safety/safe systems of work policies.
• Assisting with disciplinary hearings, return to work meetings, substance misuse procedures, etc in order to maintain standards and ensure that employees work at an appropriate level.

Qualifications

• Proven knowledge and experience of tachograph/driving rules and regulations.
• Planning and organising skills, with the ability to work efficiently and accurately to meet set deadlines under pressure.
• Excellent communication skills in order to deliver accurate information.
• Good, IT skills, including MS Office packages with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Knowledge of Road Transport Directive and current drivers' hours.
• High level of attention to detail.
