Plus night shift and Sunday premiums

Saturday - Tuesday / Sunday - Tuesday, rotating 19:00-07:00

Working in our fast-paced Central Transport operation, we require a people-focused Transport Assistant Site Manager to lead the transport team on the night shift.
The main aim of this role is to ensure the traffic operation runs smoothly, accurately, and cost-effectively 24/7. The Transport Manager will ensure all legal regulations are met, with a strong knowledge of Road Transport Regulations, managing all activities to ensure compliance.
You will seek cost savings against budget where appropriate and manage yard activities to meet high standards.
This role requires an effective people manager to drive performance by monitoring KPIs and leading by example. You will manage a team of Team Managers, who oversee drivers. You will report directly to the Transport Site Manager and deputise as required. Building positive relationships with management, colleagues, and the wider business is essential.
You will be an experienced Transport Manager/Shift Manager in a distribution or logistics environment, capable of managing a large operation in a fast-paced setting. You should have excellent people management skills, with proven ability to handle complex employment issues and challenging situations, along with coaching and developing your team.
The successful candidate must have a solid understanding of Road Transport Regulations, hold a national CPC licence, and ensure ‘O’ Licence requirements are met. You should have experience managing teams of 15+ people, preferably within retail or distribution, and possess a good standard of education.
