We are seeking a people-focused Transport Assistant Site Manager to lead our transport team on the night shift in our Central Transport operation. The main goal is to ensure the traffic operation runs smoothly, accurately, and cost-effectively 24/7. The role requires ensuring compliance with all legal regulations, managing yard activities, and seeking cost savings. As a people manager, you will monitor KPIs, lead by example, and manage a team of managers and drivers. You will report to the Transport Site Manager and develop positive relationships within the management team and broader business.
You should be an experienced Transport or Shift Manager in a distribution or logistics setting, capable of managing large operations in a fast-paced environment. Excellent people management skills, knowledge of Road Transport Regulations, and a national CPC licence are essential. You should have managed teams of 15+ and worked in retail or distribution environments, with a good educational background.
