Job summary

Lineage Logistics is recruiting a Transport Operator for the Hams Hall site in the UK. The role focuses on overseeing day-to-day transport operations, ensuring vehicle and driver compliance, and managing driver performance.

The position offers a permanent contract with a 4 on 4 off night shift pattern. You will liaise with depots, allocate drivers, and handle documentation, while meeting tight deadlines in a fast-paced, safety-conscious environment.

Qualifications

• Previous Transport experience.
• Experience in managing drivers hours/legislation.
• Willingness to learn Transport Management systems and take initiative.
• Target-focused with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Team-player with good communication and organisational skills.
• Strong IT skills, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Monitor day-to-day transport operations for the site.
• Manage vehicle and driver compliance to stay safe and legal.
• Manage driver performance.
• Liaise with Lineage depots and delivery points.
• Assign drivers and fleet using the transport planning system.
• Debrief drivers and address delivery issues.
• Create GRNs for delivery issues.
• Handle vehicle and trailer breakdowns.
• Stock allocation and invoicing/status reports.
• Day-to-day activity management.

We are currently recruiting for a Transport Operator to join our Transport team at Hams Hall.

Shift Pattern Available: 4 on 4 off Nights 18:00-06:00

Salary: Total salary inclusive of night shift allowance is £30,802.20 per annum paid monthly.

The role

In this role you will:

• Monitor the day-to-day transport operations for the site.

• Help keep our fleet safe and legal by managing all aspects of vehicle and driver compliance.

• Driver performance management.

• Liaise with Lineage depots and delivery points.

• Driver and fleet assigning using the transport planning system.

• De-briefing drivers.

• Delivery rejections - temperature, damages, wrong product.

• Create goods return notification (GRRS) for all delivery issues.

• Dealing with vehicle and trailer breakdowns.

• Stock allocation.

• UN invoice job report.

• Diary departure management.

• Scanning, indexing, and filing.

• Invoicing and status reports.

• Day to day activity management.

What we are looking for:

• Previous Transport experience.

• Experience in managing drivers hours/legislation.

• If you understand Transport Management systems, that would be helpful - though a willingness to learn and plenty of initiative will take you far in our ambitious team.

• As a target-focused individual, you'll be comfortable meeting tight deadlines. This also means that you'll be a team-player who is keen to get things done.

• Good IT skills are essential. Excel, Word, and Outlook are particularly important.

• Above all else, you'll share our determination to keep our customers and colleagues happy, so a can-do attitude with brilliant communication and organisation skills is essential.
