Job summary

Biffa Waste Services in St Neots is seeking a Transport Administrator / Traffic Dispatcher for a 12 month fixed term contract to support maternity cover. You will organise daily depot operations, allocate vehicles and optimise routes to ensure excellent service while upholding safety, compliance and environmental standards.

The role involves driver coordination, payroll tasks, tachograph records and reporting, with opportunities to engage in improvement initiatives and hands-on exposure to depot

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of local depot area and routing practices.
  • Experience in admin tasks and payroll or timesheets is a plus.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel, and data entry accuracy.

Join us in making an impact as a Transport Administrator / Traffic Dispatcher - This role is a 12 month fixed term contract covering maternity leave.
Location: St Neots
Hours: Monday to Friday - 0800 - 1700 hrs

The Traffic Administrator / Traffic Dispatcher is responsible for managing the day-to-day organisation of operations in the depot through the allocation and basic routing of vehicles. You will ensure best in class service delivery to customers, ensuring health & safety standards are maintained, and ensuring environmental and O licence compliance.

Your core responsibilities

  • Optimising routes and vehicle utilisation to deliver top-class service.
  • Managing driver availability and ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Overseeing vehicle checks, safety, and maintenance.
  • Handling admin tasks like payroll, timesheets, tachograph records, and reporting.
  • Driving cost-efficiency by analysing depot data and improving operations.
