Job summary

NIE Networks is seeking a Transmission Investment Engineer to manage the delivery of the D5 transmission projects that are critical for security of supply and renewable energy targets in Northern Ireland.

The role involves coordinating with NIE Networks and SONI, leading on optioneering and planning/consenting stages, and ensuring timely, integrated project delivery across the programme.

Job description

The National Programmes Directorate is responsible for delivering NIE Networks' Capital Investment Programme and Major Customer Connections portfolio. The Directorate also oversees the maintenance and renewal of the transmission and distribution network, including substations and overhead line assets, while ensuring a timely response to faults and emergency situations.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Directorate as a Transmission Investment Engineer, who will manage, coordinate and control the delivery of the D5 transmission projects that are critical in providing security of supply, increased capacity and assisting Northern Ireland's target of 80% electricity generation from renewable energy sources.

To support the successful delivery of this strategically important programme, NIE Networks and SONI have agreed to appoint dedicated end-to-end leads on projects. Each role will lead on their respective organisational responsibilities whilst working in close partnership to provide integrated project coordination through the optioneering and planning/consenting stages whilst then maximising delivery performance across the projects.
