Job summary

Matchtech Group is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead major power transmission and distribution projects, delivering from contract award through handover with a focus on safety, quality and on-time performance.

The role requires strong leadership, effective stakeholder management and the ability to manage scope, budgets and change across complex infrastructure programmes, with NEC contracts and CDM compliance.

Qualifications

• Proven project management experience in Power Transmission & Distribution.
• Experience managing programmes, budgets, risks and project controls.

• Engineering degree or equivalent in a related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Produce and present project performance reports, including programme, cost, risk and opportunity management.

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and promote a positive safety culture throughout project delivery.

Senior Project Manager

Our client is seeking a Senior Project Manager to support the successful delivery of major power transmission and distribution projects. This permanent position combines project leadership, commercial responsibility, stakeholder management and operational oversight across complex infrastructure programmes from contract award through to final handover.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the safe and successful delivery of transmission and distribution projects throughout the full project lifecycle.
• Manage project scope, programme, budget, resources, risks and change control processes.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, contractors, suppliers and key stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality requirements across all project activities.
• Oversee design, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover phases.
• Manage NEC contracts and support commercial, procurement and financial performance.

Requirements:

• Proven Project Management experience within the Power Transmission & Distribution sector.
• Strong understanding of project delivery across major infrastructure environments.
• Experience managing programmes, budgets, risks and project controls.
• Working knowledge of NEC contracts and change management procedures.
• Strong understanding of CDM Regulations and health & safety requirements.
• Degree, HNC, HND in Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and deliver projects to programme and budget.

Desirable Skills:

• Project Management qualification.
• IOSH, SMSTS, NEBOSH or equivalent Health & Safety qualification.
• Experience delivering projects for major electricity network operators.
• Knowledge of transmission and distribution project environments.
• Strong commercial awareness and financial management capability.
• Experience supporting client relationships and business growth activities.
