We are seeking an Associate Principal Scientist with molecular biology expertise to join our client’s Edinburgh team. This laboratory-based leadership role involves designing, delivering, and interpreting complex studies supporting drug discovery and translational research.

The successful candidate will apply experience across cellular models and molecular biology technologies, lead project activities, and develop innovative solutions to biological challenges.

Qualifications

• PhD in a relevant scientific discipline with postdoctoral or industry experience.
• Senior Scientist level experience in molecular biology, genomics, transcriptomics, or cell biology.
• Hands-on mammalian cell culture and complex cellular systems.
• Experience leading scientific projects, study design, troubleshooting, and technology evaluation.
• Ability to communicate complex scientific data to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience in CRO, biotech, pharmaceutical, or academic research environments with familiarity of GxP where applicable.

Responsabilités

• Lead and contribute to complex translational biology client projects applying molecular and cellular biology to support drug discovery.
• Design studies, analyse and interpret data, troubleshoot challenges and provide technical leadership across multiple projects.
• Collaborate with scientists, project teams and clients to ensure high-quality scientific delivery and identify opportunities for innovation.
• Contribute to technology evaluation, capability development and growth of scientific expertise within the department.
