Job summary

Stem Recruitment seeks an Associate Principal Scientist in Edinburgh to lead molecular and cellular biology efforts supporting drug discovery and translational research. This laboratory-based role designs studies, analyzes data, and provides technical leadership across client projects, with emphasis on cellular models and innovative solutions.

You will contribute to technology evaluation and capability development while fostering best practices within the department.

Qualifications

• PhD in a relevant scientific discipline with significant postdoctoral or industry research experience.
• Proven track record at Senior Scientist level or above in molecular biology, genomics, transcriptomics, or cell biology.
• Hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture and complex cellular systems.
• Experience leading scientific projects, study design, troubleshooting, and technology evaluation.
• Ability to communicate complex scientific data to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience working within CRO, biotech, pharmaceutical, or academic research environments, familiar with GxP standards where applicable.

You will also contribute to technology evaluation, capability development and the growth of scientific expertise within the department.
