Hyper Recruitment Solutions Ltd is seeking a Senior Scientist / Associate Principal Scientist – Biophysics & Protein Science to join a leading biopharmaceutical support organisation in the UK. You will deliver high-quality biophysical data and support drug discovery projects.

You will lead client projects, work independently and with teams, mentor junior scientists, and help develop capabilities across biophysics and protein production, using SPR, ITC, DLS, DSF and SEC-MALS.

Qualifications

• A Degree or higher level in a relevant scientific field.
• Proven experience across biophysical techniques and protein production.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and lead scientific projects.
• Strong communication skills with client interactions and data presentation.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of Biophysics and Protein Science projects, generating data and insights.
• Lead small-to-medium client projects ensuring they meet quality, timeline, and budget expectations.
• Apply hands-on expertise in biophysical techniques and protein production for drug discovery targets.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external clients, presenting data clearly and building relationships.
• Mentor junior scientists and contribute to capability development.

ROLE OVERVIEW

We are currently looking for a Senior Scientist / Associate Principal Scientist – Biophysics & Protein Science to join a leading biopharmaceutical support organisation based in the UK. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented scientist to contribute to innovative drug discovery projects within a dynamic and collaborative environment. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in delivering high-quality biophysical and protein science data, supporting project goals, and driving scientific excellence. You will have the chance to lead client projects, work independently and collaboratively, and support the growth and development of scientific capabilities.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support the delivery of Biophysics and Protein Science projects, generating data and insights to inform decision-making.
• Lead small-to-medium client projects ensuring they meet quality, timeline, and budget expectations.
• Apply hands-on expertise in biophysical techniques such as SPR, GCI, ITC, DLS, DSF, SEC-MALS, and protein production for drug discovery targets.
• Collaborate effectively with internal teams and external clients, presenting data clearly and building strong working relationships.
• As the Senior Scientist / Associate Principal Scientist, you will contribute to capability development and mentorship of junior scientists.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

• A Degree or higher level in a relevant scientific field (e.g., Pharmaceutical Chemistry / Quality Assurance / Quality Management for QA roles).
• Proven experience across biophysical techniques and protein production within drug discovery.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently in a laboratory environment and lead scientific projects.
• Strong communication skills, with experience in client interactions and presenting data effectively.
