Job summary

Transdev North America, Inc. seeks an Operations Manager reporting to the General Manager to oversee daily operations in Sussex County, DE.

Responsibilities include supervising operators and dispatch, coordinating with maintenance, and coaching staff for optimal performance within budget. The role requires a Class B CDL with Passenger and Air Brake endorsements, 3+ years of supervisory experience, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Class B CDL with Passenger and Air Brake endorsements or ability to obtain.
• 3+ years supervisory experience; transit experience preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of transit regulations and operations.
• Proficient with Word, Excel and database programs.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work shifts and adapt to schedules.
• DOT drug testing and physical may apply.

Responsibilities

• Supervises daily activities of all operators and coordinates supervision and dispatch personnel.
• Oversees scheduling of operators and monitors operations.
• Works with maintenance to ensure service requirements are met.
• Tracks, analyzes performance; resolves interdepartmental issues; improves routing.
• Makes hiring decisions and evaluates staff performance.
• Assists in accident/incident investigations and safety training support.
• Coordinates safety goals with the training department.
• May operate a vehicle in revenue service.
• Other duties as required.
