Somerset NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 6 Transfusion Practitioner to lead and support safe blood transfusion practice across acute and community settings. You will train staff, provide expert advice, and drive governance, audits and national standard compliance.

You will travel between SFT sites, work with multidisciplinary teams, and develop training plans for equipment and transfusion processes, contributing to patient safety and learning.

Qualifications

• Excellent knowledge of Blood Transfusion practice.
• Experience in audit processes and using audit to improve quality.
• Ability to design, implement and deliver training plans for staff at all levels.

Responsabilités

• Support clinicians and advise on effective blood transfusion practice.
• Develop relationships with stakeholder groups to raise awareness of transfusion needs.
• Design and deliver training sessions on equipment and transfusion processes.
• Travel to SFT hospitals, acute and community, to implement systems and training.
