Job description

At National Grid Electricity Transmission (NGET), we're powering one of the world's most reliable and safest electricity transmission networks while transforming the way we operate for the future. We're looking for a Transformation Portfolio Analyst to join our Asset Operations Transformation team and play a pivotal role in helping shape and deliver change across a diverse portfolio of programmes. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives on turning data into insight, bringing clarity to complexity, and influencing decisions that will have a lasting impact on the UK's critical infrastructure.

Working at the heart of our transformation agenda, you'll collaborate with teams across Electricity Transmission to provide meaningful portfolio analysis, improve reporting and governance, identify risks and dependencies, and support the successful delivery of strategic initiatives. From leveraging new technologies, including AI, to enhancing reporting and automation, to helping shape future programmes and embed continuous improvement, you'll be instrumental in enabling smarter, more effective transformation. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and experiences who bring curiosity, analytical thinking, and a passion for driving positive change in an inclusive and collaborative environment.

Based in Warwick, this role offers a hybrid way of working, combining time in the office with flexibility to work from home. We're committed to supporting diverse needs and welcome conversations about flexible working arrangements to help you perform at your best.

What You’ll Do:
  • Turn complex portfolio data into clear, actionable insights that help leaders make informed decisions and keep transformation programmes on track.
  • Create and enhance impactful dashboards, reports, and visualisations using tools such as Power BI, Excel, and emerging AI technologies to bring performance data to life.
  • Monitor progress across a diverse portfolio of transformation initiatives, identifying trends, risks, dependencies, and opportunities to drive successful delivery.
  • Partner with programme teams and stakeholders across Electricity Transmission to provide practical support, robust governance, and meaningful performance reporting.
  • Translate data and analysis into concise, compelling stories that highlight key achievements, challenges, and recommendations for senior audiences.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying smarter ways of working, leveraging automation and innovation to enhance reporting quality, efficiency, and insight.
  • Build strong collaborative relationships across the business, helping to align priorities, manage cross-portfolio challenges, and deliver transformational change at pace.
What You’ll Have:
  • Proven experience analysing portfolio or programme performance data and turning complex information into meaningful insights, recommendations, and actions that support successful delivery.
  • Strong reporting, dashboarding, and data visualisation skills, with experience developing and maintaining portfolio dashboards using tools such as Excel, Power BI, and AI-enabled reporting tools, alongside producing high-quality outputs for governance forums and senior stakeholders.
  • Experience managing risks, issues, dependencies, and assumptions (RAID), with the ability to identify emerging challenges and support effective mitigation and decision‑making.
  • Excellent portfolio, programme, or PMO management capability, including governance, reporting, performance management, and working within recognised project or change management frameworks.
  • A continuous improvement mindset, with experience enhancing reporting processes, improving data quality, and using automation, digital tools, or AI to drive efficiency and insight.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships, collaborate across teams, and confidently challenge where needed to achieve the best outcomes.
  • A proactive and highly organised approach, with the ability to work independently, solve complex problems, prioritise competing demands, and support delivery teams in achieving key milestones and objectives.

You will also have access to several flexible benefits such as a share incentive plan and technology schemes, support via employee assistance lines and matched charity giving to name a few.
