Job Description:

Octopus Energy has grown exponentially and is now a complex multi-billion turnover international group involved in various industry verticals including retail utilities, utilities management, generation, EV leasing, and software sales. Committed to innovation, sustainability, and customer satisfaction, the company is implementing NetSuite and other finance applications like OCR and AP Management to streamline operations.

We seek a Finance Systems Business Analyst to ensure the success of these initiatives. The legacy systems are at capacity, necessitating a new ERP system—Oracle’s NetSuite—to serve as the backbone for finance operations and facilitate integration across the group. This role is crucial in maintaining controls, defining processes, and supporting the implementation of new applications.

Working within the Finance Systems team, the analyst will document end-to-end finance processes, identify best practices, and collaborate with stakeholders across all entities to gather requirements, especially for NetSuite and supplementary applications.

What you'll do

1. Report to the Project Manager and collaborate with business analysts and consultants to deliver the Finance Transformation backlog.
2. Interview Finance stakeholders to capture and document requirements for new systems and processes, including business process flows in business terminology.
3. Ensure best practices in finance processes and promote reusability, working with partners to innovate and improve delivery.
4. Communicate effectively with senior management to gain buy-in and model processes as-is and to-be.
5. Align stakeholders on the benefits of new technologies and strategies.
6. Manage business analysis activities throughout the project lifecycle.
7. Support UAT activities, including test case creation, execution, and defect resolution.
8. Assist with business change activities and training.
9. Conduct peer reviews and workshops to ensure quality and clarity in requirements and models.
10. Develop user documentation.

What you'll need

• 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst focused on financial systems.
• Experience with system implementations or change management in finance.
• Proven ability to deliver end-to-end systems and process improvements.
• Deep understanding of financial processes.
