Job Description:

We are looking for bright and enthusiastic Associates/Assistant Managers interested in gaining M&A tax experience.

Our Transaction Advisory Services (TAS) Tax team provides a full spectrum of tax services to private equity, funds, deals, and portfolio companies on domestic and international transactions.

We advise mid-market private equity firms and large corporates with deal values from a few million to over £1 billion. We support clients throughout the deal lifecycle, from initial proposal and due diligence to post-deal advice.

This role involves technical tax application, client interaction, and requires interpersonal and organizational skills.

The TAS Tax team is small, growing rapidly, offering opportunities for responsibility and development.

For internal employees, secondment opportunities of 6+ months are available. Flexible working arrangements are also considered to support work-life balance.

Role overview:

As part of the TAS Tax team, you will provide tax structuring advice, undertake tax due diligence, and work on buy-side and sell-side transactions, including public company deals on AIM and the Main Market of the London Stock Exchange.

You will work across various sectors, supporting multiple projects. Responsibilities include:

  1. Supporting deal teams and managing client relationships.
  2. Leading due diligence preparation and meetings.
  3. Conducting and reviewing tax analysis and reports.
  4. Preparing structuring reports considering tax implications.
  5. Building relationships with internal teams and external contacts.
  6. Assisting with proposals and project budgets.
  7. Producing technical research using legislation and guidance.
  8. Managing workload and prioritizing tasks.

Candidate profile:

The ideal candidate has UK tax experience and is ATT/ACA/CTA qualified or part-qualified. Skills that are beneficial include:

  • Experience in corporation tax compliance.
  • Exposure to transfer pricing, R&D, VAT, employment taxes, stamp duty, share transactions.
  • Experience advising on technical tax issues.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.
