Raytheon UK is seeking a permanent Training Solution Architect to lead DSAT-based training design for defence programmes at HMS Collingwood, Fareham. The role is onsite with potential hybrid elements and focuses on scoping, requirements analysis, and technical proposals.

You will coordinate SMEs and training designers, produce scoping reports, secure stakeholder buy‑in, and provide governance oversight from initial concept through delivery while ensuring alignment with the approved solution.

Competenze

  • Experience with DSAT or similar structured training methodologies.
  • Ability to produce scoping reports and define training solutions within complex programmes.
  • Experience in Training Design (DSAT Element 2).
  • Experience coordinating inputs from multiple stakeholders and shaping training proposals.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Eligible for or holding SC security clearance; sponsorship may be available.
  • Willingness to travel when required.

Mansioni

Salary: £50,000 - 90,000 per year

Requirements
  • We are looking for an experienced learning professional with expertise in the Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT) and training design.
  • You should have experience applying DSAT or a similar structured training methodology.
  • You should have experience producing scoping reports or defining training solutions within complex programmes or change environments.
  • You should have experience in Training Design (DSAT Element 2).
  • You should have experience working with stakeholders to clarify requirements and shape training solutions.
  • You should have experience integrating inputs from multiple stakeholders into a coherent proposal.
  • You should have experience presenting technical recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • You should have strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • You should hold a university degree or have equivalent professional experience.
  • You should be able to travel when required.
  • You should be eligible for, or already hold, SC security clearance; sponsorship may be available.
  • Desirable: experience with DSAT Elements 1 (Analysis) and/or 3 (Delivery), with awareness of Element 4 (Assurance).
  • Desirable: experience with instructional design methodologies such as ADDIE.
  • Desirable: experience overseeing or supporting subcontracted training analysis or development.
  • Desirable: experience in digital learning or media development environments.
  • Desirable: background in Instructional Systems Design, Human Performance Technology, Adult Education, Human Factors, Engineering, or related disciplines.
  • Desirable: strategic or systems-level thinking in training solution development.
Responsibilities
  • Act as the engineering point of contact for training-related change requests.
  • Conduct initial triage and scoping analysis to determine whether training design activity is required.
  • Assess change requests to confirm requirements are sufficiently defined to proceed.
  • Work with programme teams to develop clarification questions for customers.
  • Analyse responses to clarify requirements and shape the direction of the solution.
  • Produce technical solution proposals and scoping reports, including the proposed training design solution, resource estimates, and an outline project plan with milestones.
  • Coordinate inputs from SMEs, training designers, media specialists, and other engineering disciplines.
  • Provide technical requirements to delivery teams or suppliers.
  • Maintain governance records, including assumptions, decisions, and constraints.
  • Provide technical oversight during delivery to ensure outputs align with the approved solution.
  • Support internal stakeholders during the adoption of delivery outputs into portfolio.
  • Engage with stakeholders and governance forums to provide engineering updates and recommendations.
  • Support Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Undertake other duties required to support programme needs.
