Job summary

Capita is recruiting an experienced engineering trainer to mentor Royal Navy engineers, delivering Marine Control Systems and Diagnostics training at HMS Sultan. The role combines hands-on instruction with updating materials, assessing coursework, and supporting trainee welfare while complying with security and safety procedures.

This full-time position offers stable hours, onsite facilities, and the chance to gain additional qualifications as you contribute to the Royal Navy's readiness.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 3 Technical Certificate in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
• Proficient in the use of IT (hardware/software) within the workplace.
• Proven experience in Electrical and Electronic Engineering principles.
• Level 3 Teaching Qualification / DCTS Defence Train The Trainer Course or equivalent (desirable).
• Previous instructional experience in a military or civilian engineering environment (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Deliver training in Marine Control Systems and Diagnostics.
• Support departmental tasks within your skill set as required.
• Maintain and update training materials to ensure accuracy and relevance.
• Assess student coursework and provide constructive feedback on performance.
• Ensure trainee welfare and progression throughout the training delivery.
• Follow all security, health, safety, and environmental procedures while maintaining records.
