Training Contract Paralegal

An elite US law firm is hiring a new Training Contract Paralegal to join their London offices on an initial 9-month fixed-term contract working the Afternoon and Evening shift from 12pm to 8.30pm. This role is ideal for someone who has a training contract lined up in 2026 or 2027. Providing high-level work from day one, this is a superb opportunity for an experienced Corporate or Finance Paralegal.

• Salary up to £58,000
• Hybrid working (3 days in the office / 2 days remote)
• Working hours: 12pm to 8.30pm
• Paid overtime

The Training Contract Paralegal will play an instrumental role in all phases of corporate transactions and will work closely with partners and attorneys.

Key Responsibilities:

• Understanding documentation required for High Yield Bond Transactions and the processes from start to finish.
• Assisting lawyers with transaction pre-closings and closings.
• Drafting due diligence memoranda, call logs, fact backup charts, and transfer circle-ups.
• Handling attorney requests from the US office via the US Library.
• Conducting document searches and factual research, including searches on computerised systems.
• Proofreading agreements and transactional documents.
• Obtaining charter documents and good standing certificates from the Secretary of State.
• Handling post-closing tasks, including preparing bound volumes.
• Gathering precedents for new transactions.

Requirements:

• Excellent academic qualifications.
• Training Contract secured for 2026 or 2027.
• Substantial paralegal experience in a top law firm, preferably in Capital Markets, US Securities, or Leveraged Finance.
• Experience managing complex transactions within a Corporate practice group.
