The role

As a Trainer - Machining and Fitting Instructor, you’ll have a unique role. Reporting to the Early Careers Lead, you'll design and deliver work-based training for Machinist, Fitting, and Inspection apprentices, as well as graduate engineers. You will also act as their first-line manager. No prior training experience is required, as we will develop you into the role.

Daily, you'll collaborate with the operation leadership team to assist with professional development training for the skilled workforce.

  • Instill the highest standards of health and safety in apprentices, reviewing new technology and practices to improve safety.
  • Structure and deliver training to help apprentices gain necessary skills, knowledge, and experience.
  • Help apprentices develop good work ethics and embody Babcock values, ensuring professional behavior.
  • Support apprentices' wellbeing and escalate concerns when necessary.

This role is full time, 37 hours per week, based at our Ashton Vale site in South Bristol.

Essential Experience

  • Knowledge in machining and fitting.
  • Ability to programme CNC machines using various languages.

Security Clearance
