About the Candidate

The Apprenticeship Directorate seeks a qualified and experienced Trainer/Assessor in Team Leading and Management. The role involves working with Level 3, 4, and 5 apprentices and their employers, conducting progress reviews, delivering training, and assessing competency. Applicants should have drive, enthusiasm, excellent interpersonal, IT, and organizational skills, and be willing to travel across the northeast region to employer premises and college sites.

About the Role

The role involves inspiring, motivating, and coaching apprentices, monitoring their progress, designing and delivering training/workshops, supporting quality improvement processes, and engaging employers to support growth and satisfaction.

Role Responsibilities
  • Coach apprentices individually, supporting their skills, knowledge, and behaviors as per the apprenticeship standards.
  • Monitor and assess apprentice progress.
  • Ensure compliance with the apprenticeship journey, standards, funding, and awarding bodies.
  • Design and deliver workplace or college-based workshops for off-the-job training.
  • Support quality assurance and improvement processes.
  • Engage with employers to support growth and satisfaction.
  • Perform additional duties as appropriate for the role.
Qualifications
  • A1 or TAQA 301-3 Assessor Award
  • A Certificate in Teaching or willingness to obtain
  • Numeracy and Literacy qualifications (minimum Level 2)
  • Experience delivering apprenticeships in relevant occupational sectors
  • Current relevant experience in the occupational sector
  • Experience delivering frameworks/standards across Levels 2-5 and all ages
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to plan and manage workload
