Are you an experienced carpenter or joiner looking to move off the tools and pass your trade skills on to the next generation?

About the Role

We're recruiting a Trainer Assessor/Lecturer in Carpentry and Joinery on behalf of a further education provider in the North West. You'll train, support and assess students on workplace programmes, combining in-house delivery with visits to employers' premises to help learners achieve their apprenticeship frameworks and standards.

You’ll plan and prepare training documentation to support both direct and online delivery, and work closely with candidates and workplace supervisors to keep assessments on track and convenient for everyone involved.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Training, supporting and assessing students on workplace programmes to deliver high-quality outcomes.
  • Planning and preparing training documentation to support direct and online delivery.
  • Liaising with candidates and workplace supervisors to arrange visits, either in college or on employers' premises.
  • Producing individual training, learning and assessment plans.
  • Providing individual and group training and support in line with relevant specifications.
  • Administering tests in college or on employers' premises as appropriate.
  • Providing advice, guidance and feedback on the training and assessment process.
What We’re Looking For
  • An Assessor Award (D32/33, A1 or TAQA)
  • A Level 3 qualification or above in a relevant trade area
  • Minimum Level 2 English and Level 2 Maths (GCSE A–C or equivalent)
  • Recent and relevant industry or occupational work/training experience
  • Experience of assessing qualifications in the workplace, such as NVQs

Desirable (but not essential):

  • A teaching or training qualification, such as the Level 3 Award in Education & Training or PTLLS, or a willingness to work towards one within 12 months

If you're ready to bring your carpentry and joinery expertise into a training role and help shape the next generation of tradespeople, we'd love to hear from you.

A real person, not an automated email. If we are not the right fit for you we will say so quickly rather than leave you waiting.

  • Level 2 English (GCSE A-C or equivalent)
  • Level 2 Maths (GCSE A-C or equivalent)
  • Recent and relevant industry or occupational work/training experience
