Job summary

Maritime Transport is recruiting a Trainee Transport Operator to join our Doncaster iPort-based Transport department. You will be trained to support Transport Operators/Planners with day-to-day operations.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in transport or similar environment (preferred not essential).
• Clear written and verbal communication.
• Excellent teamwork and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Brief drivers before and after shifts.
• Administrative tasks and paperwork filing.
• Assist transport planners.
• Monitor daily trailer counts.
• Perform yard checks.
• Actively seek additional work from planners and management.
• Communicate with customer service teams and drivers.
• Work as part of a fast-paced team.
• Maintain a clean workstation and environment.
• Report health and safety observations.

We are currently recruiting for a Trainee Transport Operator to join our successful Transport department based in Doncaster iPort. As the Trainee Transport Operator, you will be trained to be responsible for supporting our Transport Operators / Planners with the day-to-day operations.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Briefing and debriefing drivers
• General office administrative tasks such as paperwork filing.
• Assisting Transport planners
• Monitoring daily trailer counts
• Yard Checks
• Actively seeking additional work wherever possible from Transport Planners and Management
• Ability to communicate effectively with the customer service teams and drivers
• Working as part of an efficient and fast paced team
• Maintain high standards of good housekeeping, including your workstation and environment
• Maintain health and safety standards, and actively report observations & concerns

• Previous experience within Transport or similar environment – Preferred not essential
