Job summary

Maritime Transport in Doncaster is seeking an Experienced Traffic Operator to join our depot at Doncaster iPort. You will manage driver communications, book port delivery slots, and ensure on-time performance in a busy distribution environment.

We look for someone with previous Traffic Operator experience, excellent UK geographical knowledge, and the ability to work on your own initiative while staying organised. A competitive salary and benefits await the successful candidate.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Traffic Operator – Essential.
• Clear written and verbal communication.

• Ability to work on own initiative and resolve issues quickly.

Responsibilities

• Dealing with multiple drivers.
• Communicating with ports and booking delivery slots for port entry.
• Using TOPS to set drivers' start and finish times.
• Chasing drivers for ETAs and ensuring on-time performance.
• Rerouting jobs as needed and updating the system.
• Checking PODs match with jobs on the system.
• Informing customers of potential delays and ETAs.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Dealing with multiple drivers
• Communicating with ports
• Booking delivery slots for entry in ports
• Using a Transport system called TOPS for putting down drivers start times and finish times
• Chasing drivers for etas and making sure they are on time
• Rerouting jobs as and when is needed
• Checking all PODS are matched up with all the correct jobs on the system
• Speaking to customers on possible delays advising eta’s
