Job summary

Network Plus is recruiting a Trainee Traffic Management Operative in Worsley. The role offers practical experience on traffic control schemes, training to upskill through various modules, and a pathway to qualified operative positions.

Qualifications

• Lantra 12d and 12a/b accreditations are provided through training.
• Chapter 8 safety training for street and road works is included.
• Ability to read and understand CAD drawings is essential.
• Valid UK driving licence is required to operate vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Gain experience in all methods of traffic management and carer for schemes.
• Understand safe working methods and best practice procedures.
• Learn to carry out risk assessments and method statements for works.
• Ensure activities follow procedures; report improvements to line manager.
• Assist with daily vehicle checks for cleanliness and safety.
• Promote a positive company image through clothing and site cleanliness.
• Assist the public by directing them through safe site lines when required.

Trainee Traffic Management Operative

Department: GTM

Employment Type: Permanent

Location: Worsley

Compensation: £33,046 - £36,351 / year

Description

As a Trainee Traffic Management Operative, you will be required to work on Traffic Management Schemes for a range of projects in order to gain the experience needed. You will work alongside qualified operatives, helping them to ensure jobs run smoothly and efficiently to achieve maximum production in a working day, whilst maintaining a high Health and Safety standard. This role requires flexibility due to the nature of the business. GTM will provide the relevant training to upskill as you move along the business within the various modules.

This type of role will suit someone who is used to or enjoys working outside in a physical role. The role will give you the opportunity to start in a trainee role and work up through the business. The initial training will give you the skills to become a qualified Traffic Management Operative. There is then the opportunity to continue into Operational management roles within the business.

Good rates of pay and overtime also available.

Key Responsibilities

• Gain experience in all methods of traffic management; Give and take, Priority, Stop/Go boards, Portable traffic signals, Convoy working, Road closures, Lane closures and diversions
• Understand safe working methods and best practice procedures
• Learn how to carry out risk assessments and method statements on works involving traffic management
• Ensure that all activities associated with the job are carried out according to laid down procedures where possible. Identify areas that can be improved and report to your line manager
• Assist with daily vehicle checks – to ensure cleanliness and tidiness of vehicle and the safety of the driver and passenger
• Promote a positive company image whilst at work (via wearing of company clothing, attitude, and site cleanliness)
• Be happy to assist the public, directing them through safe site lines when required

Experience and Qualifications

Training given in the following

• Lantra 12d accreditation TTMBC, 12d (M1, M2)
• Lantra 12 a/b accreditation
• Chapter 8 and the Safety at Street Works and Road Works
• Ability to read and understand CAD drawings
• Mechanical ability in relation to Traffic Lights
• You must have a valid UK Driving License
