Trainee Traffic Maintenance Engineer (On-site in Oxfordshire, United Kingdom)

Join our Engineering Team at Telent, where you'll be empowered to innovate and collaborate with technical experts committed to impactful work. Be part of a high-performing team maintaining critical infrastructure, ensuring connectivity and protection 24/7.

Reporting to the Contract Manager, the Trainee Traffic Maintenance Engineer will work with Traffic Signals specialists in Oxfordshire. Due to growth, we are expanding our Traffic team in this region.

What you’ll do:

Support experienced Traffic Engineers in troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and testing Traffic Signals, Traffic Lights, and related electrical equipment around Oxfordshire.

Training combines on-the-job learning with opportunities to attain an NVQ in Electrical Installations and certifications such as ECS and NHSS Chapter 8.

Who you are:

Interested in electrical troubleshooting, repair, and testing, with some exposure to electrical work—whether through work experience, college courses, or diplomas.

Key Requirements:

• Motivated to learn through on-the-job and online training
• Experience or qualification in electrical testing, maintenance, or installation
• Problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively
• Full UK Driving Licence and residence in Oxfordshire
• Willingness to undertake Drugs & Alcohol testing
