Job summary

Vision for Education are seeking a Trainee Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in BS30, supporting children with complex needs and PMLD. The role is full-time during term time on a 0-hour contract with the opportunity to secure a permanent position.

You will work with experienced staff, assisting with learning activities, communication, sensory play and encouraging independence. Some pupils may require personal care; full training is provided, including free online training before you

Qualifications

• Be patient, caring and reliable.
• Have a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
• Be willing to support pupils with personal care where required.
• Be keen to learn and develop new skills.
• Be available full-time (32.5 hours per week).
• Hold, or be willing to apply for, an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
• Be able to provide suitable references.

Responsibilities

• You’ll work closely with experienced staff, supporting pupils both in and out of the classroom.
• Help with learning activities, communication, sensory play and encouraging independence throughout the school day.
• Some pupils may require personal care, moving and handling support or assistance with feeding; full training will be provided.
