Trainee Teaching Assistant

Full-Time

Location: Kingbsury Academy, Coventry CV6 1PJ
£85 - £90 Per Day (salary is depending on experience and/or qualifications)

We are excited to offer an opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Trainee Teaching Assistant at Kingsbury Academy. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about education and eager to embark on a rewarding career journey in supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). As a Trainee Teaching Assistant, you will undergo comprehensive online courses covering essential topics such as working in schools, supporting students with SEND, and safeguarding within educational settings. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience through 5 days of paid work experience within an SEND school, providing valuable insights into the day-to-day responsibilities of a Teaching Assistant. Throughout your training, you will receive guidance and mentorship from experienced educators, equipping you with the knowledge and skills necessary to thrive in a supportive learning environment. The successful candidate will demonstrate a genuine interest in working with children, strong communication skills, and a willingness to learn and grow. This is an exciting opportunity to kickstart your educational career and make a positive impact on the lives of students with SEND.

As a Trainee Teaching Assistant at a broad-spectrum school, you will have the opportunity to work in a variety of Special Educational Needs including Autism, Complex Needs, and Speech & Language Delay. The schools cater to students with a wide range of additional needs, providing tailored support and resources to ensure inclusive education for all with a focus on Capable Environments to ensure that the school environment provides a highly structured, low arousal and a neuro-inclusive approach to learning. Kingsbury Academy has a specialised Learning for Life curriculum which is carefully crafted to meet the unique needs of their learners, offering tailored support and opportunities for growth in a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

The desired Trainee Teaching Assistant will possess:

- A DBS Check, or readiness to undergo a DBS check.

- GCSE Mathematics and English at a grade C or above.

- A passion for working with students who have additional needs.

- Personal experience with SEND children is desirable but not essential

- Be able to provide a minimum of 2 professional references from prior employment in the last 5 years.
