Job summary

Liverpool City Council is seeking a Trainee Stores Assistant to join the Neighbourhoods & Housing stores team at Citywide. You will support stock delivery, distribution, and depot maintenance while working as part of a small team and using a computer at times.

Applicants should have 5 GCSEs including English and Maths, be prepared for year-round outdoor work, and be willing to undertake training. The post offers agile working where possible, generous leave, pension options, and progression

Responsibilities

The role:

We are looking for a Trainee Stores Assistant to join our stores team as part of the Neighbourhood & Housing Directorate.

  • In the role of Trainee Stores Assistant you will be required to work as part of a team to support the effective delivery of the stores function and assist by undertaking various stores and yard relation functions with appropriate support, coaching and mentoring
  • As part of the role of Trainee Stores Assistant you will be required to assist with the delivery of stock items, assist with distribution and ensure that the stores depot is kept clean and tidy and that stock supplies are stored safely and securely at all times
  • In the role of Trainee Stores Assistant you will work as part of a team liaising with colleagues and staff/managers across the Service in a professional and courteous manner
  • The role of Trainee Stores Assistant would include using a computer and sitting at a desk for prolonged periods of time. Lifting and carrying items using appropriate tools and safe manual handling methods is essential. You will be required to work in an outdoor environment all year round

To fulfil the requirements of the role you are required to hold 5 GCSEs at grade 9-5 (or equivalent) including English and Maths. You must have a willingness to undertake the relevant training during the duration of the training programme. You must have the ability to work as part of the team.

Irregular hours- £343 Per annum
