Trainee Site Manager – North West England

As a Trainee Site Manager, your work will be primarily site-based, with assignments to a SPEN depot or head office, involving travel for construction site visits.

What you’ll be doing

This role is part of the Project Delivery team within SPM 132kV Networks, responsible for constructing substations and infrastructure for major electrical projects. You will work within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver projects from inception to completion.

During the program, you'll be mentored to understand electrical and civil design drawings, circuit diagrams, wiring, inspection, and testing. You will gain hands-on experience in installing and testing various civil and electrical works at 33kV and 132kV, including planning and management aspects, health and safety legislation, and contract management.

What you’ll bring

Successful candidates will earn a CIOB Certificate and Diploma in Site Management through online learning and coursework. Candidates with supervisory experience in the transmission sector or relevant technical qualifications will benefit from on-the-job training, coaching, and mentoring. The program duration is approximately 18 months to 2 years, depending on individual qualifications.

Benefits include a starting salary of £33,440, with potential to rise to £36,648 after completion, a double-matched pension scheme up to 10%, share plans, employee discounts, and more.
