What you will do

FM: Systems is seeking a Trainee Field Service Technician to deploy our sensor technology across the United Kingdom and beyond. In this role, the chosen candidate will work mainly at customer sites during the week and at differing times across the day (workdays, weekends, and out of hours). The individual will possess a passion for technology, excellent written/verbal skills and be a key member of the team.

How you will do it

  1. Assist with sensor installations and systems testing in client’s buildings across the country.
  2. Create detailed Excel tables with sensor information.
  3. Assess floor plans to get the number of sensors and hosts required for the system.
  4. Learn how to prepare hardware and equipment for installations.
  5. Install sensors and hosts under the guidance of the Field Service Technician.
  6. Fully test the system before leaving a customer site.
  7. Document all installations and maintenance work for future reference.
  8. Prioritize knowledge expansion and skills required for advancement to Field Service Technician and beyond.

What we look for

Required:

  1. Valid Driver’s License.
  2. Passion for technology.
  3. Familiarity with network protocols, operating systems, and computer hardware.
  4. Strong time management and organization skills.
  5. Excellent attention to detail.
  6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers and colleagues.
  7. Physical capability to install sensors and hardware – bending and crawling under desks for prolonged periods of time.
  8. Ability to travel to customer locations on a regular basis.
