Job summary

Vision for Education Ltd is recruiting Trainee SEND Teaching Assistants to work within specialist SEND schools and alternative provisions around the BA14 area (Trowbridge). This role welcomes graduates, career changers, or those with experience working with children or vulnerable adults seeking valuable classroom exposure.

As a Trainee SEND Teaching Assistant, you will receive ongoing training and support while developing the skills needed for a rewarding career in education.

Qualifications

• Have a genuine passion for working with children and young people.
• Be patient, caring and enthusiastic.
• Work well as part of a team.
• Experience working with children or vulnerable adults is desirable but not essential.
• Be willing to complete training through our National Teaching Assistant Programme.
• Be able to provide suitable references.
• Hold, or be willing to obtain, an Enhanced DBS check.
• Have the Right to Work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.
• Assist teachers with lesson delivery and classroom activities.
• Encourage positive behaviour and engagement with learning.
• Support pupils with their social, emotional and educational development.

About the Role & Schools

We are recruitingTrainee SEND Teaching Assistantsfor temporary, long-term and permanent opportunities across a range of specialist schools in and around the BA14 area.

Working as aTrainee SEND Teaching Assistant, you'll support pupils with a variety of additional needs, including SEND, autism, SEMH, speech and language needs, and learning difficulties. You'll work alongside experienced teachers and support staff to help pupils engage with learning, build confidence and achieve their individual goals.
