Job summary

Vision for Education are recruiting Trainee Teaching Assistants to support pupils in mainstream and SEN schools across North Somerset, Weston-super-Mare and surrounding areas. The NTAP online training in Safeguarding, Understanding SEN and Behaviour Management is required after a successful interview, and helps prepare you for hands-on classroom experience.

Positions are available on a permanent, temporary, and long-term supply basis.

Qualifications

• Experience in supporting pupils with SEND, SEMH, autism, and additional learning needs.
• Ability to support literacy and numeracy development in small groups or one-to-one.
• Strong relationship-building with pupils and staff to create inclusive learning environments.

Responsibilities

• Build strong relationships with pupils and staff.
• Support students with SEND, SEMH, autism and other needs.
• Assist the class teacher with lesson delivery and behaviour management.
• Support students in the classroom on a 1:1 and small-group basis.
• Help pupils with literacy, numeracy and emotional regulation.

Location:North Somerset - Weston-super-Mare, Nailsea, Clevedon, Yatton, Cheddar, Sandford, Portishead.
Salary:£14.24 p/h - higher rates available depending on experience/qualifications
Contract Type:Full-time & part-time available

Our National Teaching Assistant Programme (NTAP) provides excellent online training in courses such as Safeguarding, Understanding SEN, Behaviour Management and an Introduction into becoming a Teaching Assistant. These courses are a requirement after a successful interview, and are beneficial to gain knowledge in these topics prior to gaining hands-on classroom experience.

We are currently recruiting Trainee Teaching Assistants for permanent, temporary, and long-term supply positions across a network of high-performing and outstanding schools in Weston-super-Mare, Nailsea, Clevedon, Yatton, Cheddar, Sandford, Portishead.

As a Trainee Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

• Building strong relationships with pupils and staff
• Supporting students with SEND, SEMH, autism, and additional learning needs
• Assisting the class teacher with lesson delivery and behaviour management
• Supporting students in the classroom on a 1:1 and small-group basis
• Helping pupils with literacy, numeracy, and emotional regulation
• Creating a positive, inclusive learning environment

Pay & Hours:14.24 p/h (PAYE) Monday - Friday 08:30am - 15:30pm, term time only.
