Job summary

Vision for Education is seeking enthusiastic individuals to begin a rewarding career as a Trainee SEN Teaching Assistant in Ashford. You will gain hands-on experience across SEN schools, supporting children with Autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, SEMH, and disabilities.

No prior classroom experience is required; full training and ongoing professional development are provided. The role offers competitive daily rates (£95 - £110) and starts September 2026.

Trainee SEN Teaching Assistant

The Role

Vision for Education is seeking enthusiastic and compassionate individuals who are keen to begin a rewarding career in education as a Trainee SEN Teaching Assistant. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands‑on experience working across a wide range of Special Educational Needs (SEN) schools, supporting children and young people with diverse learning needs including Autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) challenges, and physical disabilities.

You don’t need prior classroom experience—just a genuine passion for making a difference, patience, and a willingness to learn. Full training and ongoing professional development will be provided.

Responsibilities
  • Support pupils with a range of additional needs in their learning and personal development.
  • Work alongside teachers and experienced support staff to create a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
  • Provide one-to‑one or small group support, adapting activities to suit individual abilities.
  • Encourage independence and help pupils build confidence and life skills.
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
Requirements

  • A DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
