Job summary

Kinetic Industrial is seeking a practical, hands-on individual to join a leading global supplier of safety components and solutions to the railway industry. This permanent role offers training and a clear progression path toward Technician level as skills grow.

You will work with experienced Technicians, perform routine servicing and testing of electronic equipment, and support repairs with a range of test equipment while developing your technical knowledge.

Qualifications

• Experience in a technical, engineering, electronics or manufacturing environment is advantageous but not essential.
• A genuine interest in electronics, engineering or technical repair.
• Practical and hands-on approach to work.
• Willingness to learn and develop new technical skills.
• Good attention to detail and reliable, organized.
• Ability to read and understand basic technical drawings or instructions.
• Good written and spoken English; basic MS Office knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing and testing of electronic equipment.
• Prepare equipment for repair, servicing and overhaul.
• Support experienced Technicians with repair and refurbishment work.
• Use a range of test equipment during routine testing.
• Assist with identification of faulty components and their functions.
• Carry out basic soldering and de-soldering where required.
• Read and follow technical manuals, diagrams and product drawings.
• Complete relevant test results, paperwork and documentation accurately.
• Maintain equipment, tools and inventory.
• Support general warehouse and administrative activities when required.
• Attend regular training and development workshops.
• Follow company health & safety requirements.
• Identify opportunities to improve internal processes and procedures.
• Work closely with experienced Technicians to develop your technical knowledge and skills.
