Kinetic plc is seeking a practical, hands-on Trainee Repair Technician in Middleton, England. This permanent role offers full training and a clear progression path to Technician level within electronics and engineering.

You will join a global supplier of safety components to the railway industry, working with experienced Technicians and accruing hands-on skills while developing your technical knowledge.

Qualifications

  • Technical/engineering/electronics/manufacturing background is advantageous but not essential.
  • Genuine interest in electronics, engineering or technical repair.
  • Practical and hands-on approach to work.
  • Willingness to learn and develop new technical skills.
  • Good attention to detail and reliability.
  • Good written and spoken English.
  • Basic knowledge of MS Office.
  • Previous electronics qualifications or exams would be advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine servicing and testing of electronic equipment.
  • Prepare equipment for repair, servicing and overhaul.
  • Support experienced Technicians with repair and refurbishment work.
  • Use test equipment as part of routine testing.
  • Identify faulty components and equipment.
  • Perform basic soldering and de-soldering as required.
  • Read and follow technical manuals, diagrams and product drawings.
  • Complete test results, paperwork and documentation accurately.
  • Maintain equipment, tools and inventory.
  • Support warehouse and administrative activities when required.
  • Attend regular training and development workshops.
  • Follow health & safety requirements and look for process improvements.
  • Work closely with experienced Technicians to develop skills.

Trainee Repair Technician

Kinetic Industrial are looking for a practical and hands-on individual to join a leading global supplier of safety components and solutions to the railway industry. This is a permanent opportunity suited to someone looking to start or develop their career within electronics, engineering or technical repair. You will work alongside experienced Technicians and receive full training and support, with a clear opportunity to progress to Technician level as your skills and experience develop.

Role:
  • Carrying out routine servicing and testing of electronic equipment
  • Preparing equipment for repair, servicing and overhaul
  • Supporting experienced Technicians with repair and refurbishment work

Requirements:
  • Previous experience within a technical, engineering, electronics or manufacturing environment is advantageous but not essential

  • Hours: Monday to Thursday, 7:30am - 3:30pm; Friday, 7:30am - 1:30pm
