Job summary

Network Plus is offering a trainee Reinstatement Operative position based in Preston (Redscar). The role focuses on learning how to reinstate roads and other surfaces after utility works, with on‑the‑job training and a pathway to a long‑term career in the utilities sector.

You will join a collaborative team, develop practical trade skills and gain experience across site preparation, material mixing and finishing reinstatement work in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Learning how to safely reinstate roads, footpaths and other surfaces after utility works.
• Preparing work areas, mixing and laying materials, compacting surfaces and completing finished reinstatement work.
• Supporting safe site set‑up, including signing, guarding and keeping work areas tidy.
• Using hand tools, equipment and small plant safely under supervision.
• Working as part of a team to deliver high‑quality work for customers and local communities.
