Job summary

The Forward Trust is recruiting a Trainee Drug and Alcohol Recovery Worker at HMP Onley, Rugby. This permanent traineeship offers hands-on experience in recovery support, shadowing experienced staff and gaining supervision while studying towards a recognised qualification.

You will learn to plan caseloads, collaborate with healthcare professionals, and support service users through 1:1 and group sessions, with regular reviews and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience or understanding of the needs of vulnerable adults in recovery.
• Ability to manage own workload and meet deadlines.
• Commitment to completing a nationally recognised qualification.

Responsibilities

• Shadow experienced staff and receive mentoring to develop practical skills.
• Balance hands-on experience with study towards qualification.
• Undertake external supervision as part of the programme.
• Co-facilitate groups and programmes to the required standard.
• Collect and record information for audit, research and reporting.
• Support individuals through 1:1 sessions and group work.
