Job summary

Office Angels in Wellington is seeking a Trainee Quality and Production Coordinator to support goods-inwards inspection and in-process quality control on a manufacturing line. You will help ensure components and finished products meet defined quality standards and support continuous improvement.

The role offers hands-on training in a growing technology-led manufacturing business, with a salary of £28k–£35k per year depending on experience.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a quality control, inspection, or manufacturing support role, including goods inwards and/or in-process inspection.
  • Competent use of Microsoft Word and Excel for inspection records, reporting, and basic data analysis.
  • Experience of working with ERP/MRP systems desirable.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Clear and professional communicator, confident in identifying, documenting, and challenging quality issues.

Responsibilities

  • Support goods inwards inspection of purchased components, materials, and assemblies against drawings, specifications, purchase order requirements, and applicable ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 control.
  • Maintain accurate, traceable inspection and quality records, and provide relevant data to support reporting, audits, and KPIs.
  • Carry out routine and ad hoc in-process inspections, maintaining a visible quality presence on the shop floor and working proactively with production personnel.
  • Carry out internal and supplier audits as required to support the Quality Assurance Manager.
  • Identify recurring issues, trends, and risks, and contribute to improvement activities to reduce defects, rework, waste, and compliance risks.

Job Title: Trainee Quality and Production Coordinator

Location: Wellington

Salary: £28 - £35K PA DOE

Hours: 8am - 4.15pm (Monday-Thursday) 8am-3pm (Friday)

Role Overview

Provide hands-on quality control support across goods-inward inspection and production activities, ensuring purchased components and manufactured products meet defined quality standards.
