Job summary

Office Angels in Wellington is seeking a Trainee Quality and Production Coordinator to join a growing technology-led manufacturing business. You will provide hands-on quality control support across goods-inward inspection and production activities, ensuring components and products meet defined quality standards.

The role involves inspecting goods, recording data for audits and KPIs, supporting internal and supplier audits, and contributing to continuous improvement to reduce defects and waste.

Qualifications

• Experience in quality control, inspection, or manufacturing support.
• Proficient in Word and Excel for inspection records and reporting.
• ERP/MRP systems experience desirable.
• Self-motivated with strong ownership and accountability.
• Clear, professional communicator able to document and challenge quality issues.

Responsibilities

Role Overview

Provide hands-on quality control support across goods-inward inspection and production activities, ensuring purchased components and manufactured products meet defined quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Support goods inwards inspection of purchased components, materials, and assemblies against drawings, specifications, purchase order requirements, and applicable ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 control.
• Maintain accurate, traceable inspection and quality records, and provide relevant data to support reporting, audits, and KPIs.
• Carry out routine and ad hoc in-process inspections, maintaining a visible quality presence on the shop floor and working proactively with production personnel.
• Carry out internal and supplier audits as required to support the Quality Assurance Manager.
• Identify recurring issues, trends, and risks, and contribute to improvement activities to reduce defects, rework, waste, and compliance risks.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

• Previous experience in a quality control, inspection, or manufacturing support role, including goods inwards and/or in-process inspection.
• Competent use of Microsoft Word and Excel for inspection records, reporting, and basic data analysis.
• Experience of working with ERP/MRP systems desirable.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
• Clear and professional communicator, confident in identifying, documenting, and challenging quality issues.
