Dorset HealthCare is hiring a PWP Trainee for the Steps to Wellbeing Team, focusing on delivering psychological support for common mental health issues. This full-time role offers both academic training from the University of Exeter and practical experience, supported by an exceptional team. Ideal candidates will have relevant skills in communication and administration, along with a passion for mental health care.
We currently have a vacancy for a PWP Trainee to work in the Steps to Wellbeing Team in the rural localities of Purbeck & East Dorset and North Dorset. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with the appropriate skills to join a highly motivated and committed team.
Steps to Wellbeing is a busy, dynamic, and progressive service with a friendly and supportive team of qualified clinicians and staff in training.
The role is both demanding and rewarding, providing psychological interventions to people with mild to moderate common mental health problems in primary care. We are seeking enthusiastic and passionate individuals to join our service. Good administrative, time management, and communication skills are essential. Experience working within mental health, the NHS, or similar organizations is highly desirable.
Applications from candidates requiring current healthcare/skilled worker sponsorship to work in the UK are unfortunately ineligible.
You will undertake academic training provided and accredited by University of Exeter. Time will be split between university study and on-job training, including learning about CBT-based self-management for clients suffering from mild to moderate anxiety and/or depression, using a stepped-care approach. All trainees will receive intensive supervision and support as part of their training.
This is a full-time position; part-time applications cannot be considered due to university commitments.
We expect a high volume of applications; the advert may close earlier than stated if filled. Due to the volume, individual feedback prior to interviews may not be possible. Interviews are scheduled for early July 2025, dates to be confirmed.
